Beginning September 1st, all private house parties booked with My Authentic Colors will include a travel fee.
🔹 Mileage will be billed at $0.70 per mile (round trip).
🔹 A set travel fee will also apply based on the distance from the My Authentic Colors office to the event location
• 30 minutes or less → $50 travel fee + mileage
• 30–60 minutes → $100 travel fee + mileage
• 1–3 hours → $200 travel fee + mileage
• 3+ hours → $350 travel fee + mileage

Today’s Topic: The Personality Styles // Natural
Over the next several weeks inside Behind the Drapes, we’re diving deeper into one of my favorite layers of personal style—the energetic code behind how we dress, decorate, and even carry ourselves.
Each of us holds a unique style identity that is deeply rooted in either yin or yang energy. It’s not about gender—it’s about the energetic expression that naturally radiates from you. Your personal style identity is made up of one of six key archetypes: three yin and three yang.
The Yang Energetic Codes:
Dramatic
Aristocrat
Natural
The Yin Energetic Codes:
Classic

Romantic
Over the next few weeks, we’ll be unpacking these archetypes in more depth. This is something I guide my clients through during a personalized styling consultation (coming very soon!). This week, let’s talk about all things, Natural Style Personality.
The Natural
Effortless Ease. Grounded Strength. Relaxed Confidence.
The Natural embodies an earthy, unforced version of yang energy. Where the Dramatic commands attention with sharpness, and the Aristocrat with poise, the Natural captivates through authenticity, ease, and unshakable presence. Their energy is grounded, approachable, and inherently confident—think relaxed magnetism with a touch of rugged charm.
The Physical Form
Naturals often have an athletic, uncontrived silhouette. Their features tend to be broad, blunt, or slightly asymmetrical—yet incredibly compelling. There's a raw, tactile beauty to them. While they may be tall or medium in height, their power comes not from precision but from freedom of movement and a casual, untamed grace.
Look for: broader shoulders, muscular or sinewy limbs, wide hands, strong jawlines, and expressive eyes. Their bodies often look like they were built for activity—movement comes naturally, and posture is relaxed rather than rigid.
But, as always, it's more about the energy than exact features: the Natural reads as grounded, capable, and unpretentious.
Personality Traits
Naturals are instinctive, easygoing, and direct. They value comfort, functionality, and personal freedom. Their rhythm is organic and adaptable—they dislike being boxed in or over-structured. They bring a steady, calming presence to any space and often lead by doing rather than declaring.
They can come off as casual or even aloof—not because they lack care, but because they resist pretense. Naturals are confident in their own skin and prefer realness over perfection. They often excel in environments that reward practical intelligence, grounded leadership, and interpersonal authenticity.
They desire to be seen as approachable, capable, and effortlessly cool—never try-hard, always at ease.
Style Preferences
Naturals are drawn to unfussy, functional pieces with a lived-in luxury feel. They favor relaxed silhouettes, tactile fabrics, and an easy, layered aesthetic. Their style feels uncontrived—comfortable yet elevated, with a quiet charisma.
Think refined utility meets relaxed chic—clothes that move with them, not against them.
Expect to see:
Relaxed tailoring – unstructured blazers, straight-leg pants, shirt jackets, field coats
Natural fabrics – linen, cotton, raw denim, soft leather, brushed wool, cashmere blends
Earthy textures and organic details – slub knits, woven weaves, wood buttons, canvas or suede
Casual layering – button-ups over tees, sweaters tied over shoulders, scarves worn loosely
Accessories – minimal, often with a rugged or artisanal touch. Think leather cuffs, woven belts, or a vintage timepiece.
Color palette? Earth tones, warm neutrals, olive, tan, denim blue, rust, clay, cream, and charcoal. They may add in faded jewel tones or sun-washed colors—nothing too stark, always with a soft edge.
Their wardrobe feels like a breath of fresh air—natural, grounded, and totally unforced.
Home + Environment
For The Natural: Unforced Beauty. Grounded Ease. Effortless Warmth.
A Natural’s home is an extension of their down-to-earth confidence and relaxed sophistication. Whether it’s a sun-drenched cottage, a modern craftsman, a cozy mountain retreat, or an airy loft, the space exudes lived-in warmth, casual charm, and an easy sense of belonging.
One of the most distinct features? Comfort with substance. Nothing in a Natural’s home feels stiff or overly precious. Their furniture invites you to sit down, put your feet up, and stay a while. It’s spacious but unfussy, tactile but never try-hard. Their environment is curated with intention, not perfection—practical, beautiful, and always real.
You’ll see:
Oversized sofas with slouchy cushions in linen, canvas, or soft leather
Worn-in armchairs with a favorite throw draped casually over the back
Open shelving filled with plants, ceramics, books, and handpicked treasures
Long wooden dining tables—perfect for laid-back meals with friends

Even in modern apartments, Naturals lean toward raw materials, organic shapes, and open layouts that prioritize flow over formality. Their decor tells a story—of places they’ve been, objects they love, and a life well-lived.
The Natural + Pets
Naturals often have a strong connection to animals—they love companionship that feels free, playful, and intuitive. Pets are part of the family, not accessories. Whether it’s a rescue dog or a farm cat, their animals are easygoing, affectionate, and grounded—just like them.
Think:
A Labrador Retriever or Australian Shepherd—loyal, active, and endlessly loving
A tabby or Maine Coon cat—independent, snuggly, and a little wild
A mixed-breed rescue with personality and soul
Chickens in the backyard or a rescue goat with its own Instagram following
A happy mutt with floppy ears, muddy paws, and total devotion
Their pets are rarely chosen for aesthetics alone—they’re chosen for connection, compatibility, and energy. Naturals don’t care about pedigree; they care about heart.
When The Natural Doubts Themselves
The deepest wound of the Natural archetype is feeling like they’re “too casual,” not polished enough, or lacking the sparkle that others seem to effortlessly project. But ease is their magic—they don’t need to try harder, because who they are already puts others at ease.
When a Natural steps fully into their identity, they become the kind of person others feel drawn to—safe, seen, and inspired. Their style speaks of realness, their presence radiates calm, and their life is a masterclass in living well without the performance.
