Beginning September 1st, all private house parties booked with My Authentic Colors will include a travel fee.
🔹 Mileage will be billed at $0.70 per mile (round trip).
🔹 A set travel fee will also apply based on the distance from the My Authentic Colors office to the event location
• 30 minutes or less → $50 travel fee + mileage
• 30–60 minutes → $100 travel fee + mileage
• 1–3 hours → $200 travel fee + mileage
• 3+ hours → $350 travel fee + mileage

Over the next several weeks inside Behind the Drapes, we’re diving deeper into one of my favorite layers of personal style—the energetic code behind how we dress, decorate, and even carry ourselves.
Each of us holds a unique style identity that is deeply rooted in either yin or yang energy. It’s not about gender—it’s about the energetic expression that naturally radiates from you. Your personal style identity is made up of one of six key archetypes: three yin and three yang.
The Yang Energetic Codes:

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be unpacking these archetypes in more depth. This is something I guide my clients through during a personalized styling consultation (coming very soon!). This week, let’s talk about all things, Classic Style Personality.
The Classic
Polished Simplicity. Timeless Grace. Quiet Confidence.
The Classic embodies the refined, balanced essence of yin energy. Where the Natural draws strength from ease and the Dramatic from boldness, the Classic captivates with poise, elegance, and understated confidence. Their presence is calm, composed, and quietly authoritative—think effortless refinement with a sense of inner steadiness.
The Physical Form
Classics often have a symmetrical, balanced silhouette with softly defined features. Nothing feels exaggerated or extreme—there’s a harmonious proportionality to their frame and face. Their beauty lies in their clean lines, composure, and natural elegance, rather than in bold contrast or overt softness.
Look for: moderate height, balanced shoulders and hips, gently contoured limbs, oval or heart-shaped faces, and even facial features. Their posture is naturally upright, reflecting a graceful, self-possessed nature.
But as always, it’s less about exact measurements and more about the energy they carry: the Classic radiates poise, serenity, and a composed presence.
Personality Traits
Classics are thoughtful, discerning, and quietly self-assured. They value tradition, order, and quality. Their rhythm is steady and deliberate—they thrive in structure and excel when expectations are clear. Their leadership is subtle but dependable, marked by consistency and integrity.
They may seem reserved or formal, but this stems from a deep respect for others and a desire for excellence. Classics are rarely impulsive—they think things through, speak with purpose, and act with care.
They wish to be seen as reliable, composed, and effortlessly refined—never flashy, always appropriate.
Style Preferences
Classics are drawn to clean lines, timeless silhouettes, and fine craftsmanship. They prefer clothing that is tailored but not tight, elegant but never excessive. Their style is refined, enduring, and always appropriate to the occasion.
Think tailored simplicity with a polished finish—clothes that frame the person, not overpower them.
Expect to see:
Structured tailoring – blazers, pencil skirts, crisp trousers, A-line dresses
Quality fabrics – smooth cotton, silk, wool suiting, lightweight cashmere, gabardine
Minimal detailing – subtle pleats, refined buttons, precise seams, quiet finishing touches
Polished essentials – trench coats, sheath dresses, button-down shirts, knit sets
Accessories – classic and purposeful. Think pearl or gold stud earrings, leather handbags, simple belts, and sleek timepieces.
Color palette? Neutrals and timeless hues—navy, ivory, charcoal, camel, soft white, dove grey, deep burgundy, and forest green. Occasionally punctuated with clear red, sapphire, or soft blush. Always cohesive, never chaotic.
A Classic’s wardrobe is a study in timeless elegance—unshaken by trend, grounded in grace, and defined by quiet sophistication.
Home + Environment
Timeless Order. Understated Elegance. Quiet Harmony.
A Classic’s home is a reflection of their inner world: calm, composed, and thoughtfully curated. Whether it's a stately townhouse, a well-appointed apartment, or a serene suburban retreat, their space radiates a sense of balance, grace, and enduring style. It’s not about trend—it’s about timelessness.
The hallmark of a Classic home? Effortless refinement. Every piece feels intentional. Furnishings are elegant but functional, rooms are organized but never sterile, and the overall atmosphere exudes a gentle kind of sophistication—inviting without being showy, warm without being chaotic.
You’ll see:
Tailored sofas in soft neutrals, perhaps accented with structured pillows or a cashmere throw

Classics often choose pets that reflect their own temperament: well-mannered, affectionate, and reliable. These companions are a source of quiet joy and emotional grounding—a comforting presence in the background of daily life.
Think:
A Golden Retriever or Cavalier King Charles Spaniel—gentle, loyal, and well-behaved
A sleek British Shorthair or Russian Blue cat—elegant, affectionate, and low-drama
A purebred dog with a dignified temperament and classic features
One beloved pet (rather than many), well-trained and integrated into home routines
To the Classic, pets are not an aesthetic choice—they’re part of the home’s rhythm. They add warmth and companionship, with an emphasis on compatibility, grace, and mutual respect.
