Client Guidelines - Virtual

Thank you for choosing My Authentic Colors to be part of your color analysis journey! I’m honored to guide you through this transformative experience, and I’m committed to making the process both enlightening and enjoyable. To ensure the best experience and most accurate results, please follow these guidelines as you prepare for your virtual color analysis session:

1. High-Quality Photos Required

Prior to your appointment, you’ll need to submit a series of high-quality photos. These must be taken in natural daylight, with no direct sunlight, and without any filters or artificial lighting. Make sure your face is fully visible, with no shadows or distractions. All photos must be taken using the back-facing camera of your phone for the best quality and accuracy. If your photos do not meet the standards I uphold, I will ask you to resubmit them, as improper photos can skew the accuracy of the analysis. An example of a great photo and a bad photo can be shown on the right.

2. Camera Positioning

When taking your photos, ensure that your camera is at eye level and positioned straight on. Avoid tilting your head up, down, or to the side as this can affect the lighting and skew the analysis. Make sure you are close enough to the camera so that I can see your features accurately and

3. Neutral Background

If possible, take your photos in front of a plain, neutral-colored background (white, beige, or light gray). This helps reduce any distractions and allows for a more accurate color assessment.

4. Consistent Lighting

Try to take all your photos in the same location and lighting conditions to ensure consistency in the analysis process. Avoid standing directly in sunlight or using artificial indoor lights, as these can distort your true coloring. An example of this can be shown here.

5. No Makeup or Tinted Products

For accurate results, please ensure that you are makeup-free in your photos. This includes foundation, tinted moisturizers, bronzers, blush, or any product that alters your natural skin tone.

6. Neutral Clothing

Please wear a neutral-colored top (white, beige, light gray, or soft cream) that does not distract from your face. Avoid bold patterns, bright colors in your clothing during the photo-taking process as well as avoid wearing turtlenecks of any kind.

7. No Jewelry or Accessories

Remove all jewelry, glasses, and accessories from the neck up. This includes earrings, necklaces, and scarves. If you wear glasses, take your initial photos without them, as they can reflect light and alter the color analysis.

8. Hair Out of Your Face

Style your hair away from your face to allow for a clear view of your skin tone. If you have long hair, pull it back into a ponytail or bun to avoid any interference with the color assessment.

9. Childhood Photo Submission

Submit a photo of yourself from the ages of 15-20. This helps provide insight into your natural coloring before any significant changes from age or lifestyle. If your childhood photo is in black and white, I can still evaluate the contrast levels and determine key aspects of your natural coloring. Additionally, if you’ve only recently started coloring your hair, a photo from this earlier age will help me better understand your original hair tone and overall look.

10. Eye Photo Submission

Please provide a clear, close-up photo of one of your eyes in natural daylight. This helps me assess the unique patterns and tones in your eye color, which play a role in determining your color palette. An example of this can be shown on the right hand side. This can be a tricky photo to take so as long as I can see the pattern clearly, it will be acceptable.

11. Submit Photos Promptly

Please submit all requested photos within three to five days after purchasing your virtual consultation. This ensures we stay on track for completing your analysis in a timely manner. Email all required photos to info@myauthenticcolors.com in ONE email.

12. Skin Conditions, Facial Enhancements, & Hair Color

If you have any skin conditions, tattooed eyebrows, microblading, facial tattoos, or if your hair is dyed, please include this information when submitting your materials. I will take these factors into consideration during the analysis to ensure we achieve the most accurate and personalized results possible.

13. Virtual Color Analysis Timeline

To ensure the accuracy of your analysis, I will begin the process only after receiving the requested materials. Once I have reviewed and approved your submissions, I will send you a confirmation email indicting that your analysis is officially underway. Please note that it will take up to 2 weeks recieve your final results.

14. Preparing for Your Zoom Session

Once your analysis is complete, we will schedule a Zoom meeting to go over your results. Please ensure that you’re in a quiet, well-lit, and distraction free environment to get the most out of our session. It’s important to be timely, and have a strong reliable internet connection for the Zoom call to run smoothly. Please note that all appointments are scheduled in Eastern Standard Time (EST).

15. Post-Appointment Shipping
