Client Guidelines - In Person

Thank you for choosing My Authentic Colors to be part of your color analysis journey! I’m honored to guide you through this transformative experience, and I’m committed to making the process both enlightening and enjoyable.

To ensure we get the most accurate results, I kindly ask that you follow these instructions for our upcoming appointment:

1. Makeup Policy

For the most accurate color analysis, please arrive with a completely clean face—no makeup, tinted moisturizers, or cosmetic products. If you arrive wearing makeup, I’ll kindly ask you to remove it before we start. Refusal to remove your makeup will severely impact the accuracy of the results, and we will not be able to perform the service as intended.

2. Clear Lenses Requirement

If you wear tinted contact lenses, please switch to clear lenses or remove them before your session. This ensures the most accurate color analysis.

3. Jewelry Policy

Kindly remove any jewelry worn on the face (e.g., earrings, nose rings) before we begin.

4. Clothing Guidelines

To facilitate an accurate color analysis, please avoid wearing turtlenecks or high-necked garments that may interfere with the draping process.

5. Bring a Childhood Photo

If possible, bring a photo of yourself from ages 15 to 20. This provides helpful context for assessing your natural coloring. You can also upload this photo in the Client Questionaire that is listed in the Booking Link in your welcome email.

6. Glasses

Feel free to wear glasses—they’re welcome! However, please remove them during the initial draping phase and put them back on afterward.

7. Avoid Tanning

Please refrain from any form of tanning, including sun exposure and tanning beds, before your appointment as this can alter your natural skin tone.

8. Stay Hydrated and Avoid Alcohol

Drink plenty of water before your appointment to keep your skin in optimal condition. Avoid alcohol the night before and the day of your appointment, as it can affect your skin tone.

9. Punctuality

Please arrive at least 5-10 minutes early before your appointment. Late arrivals may lead to a shortened session to accommodate other clients. If you are more than 15 minutes late to your appointment without prior notification (no call, no show) your appointment will be automatically rescheduled to a later date.

10. Hair Preparation

If possible, come with your natural hair color or avoid drastic color changes close to your appointment. This helps in achieving accurate results. If you have long hair, please pull it back and away from the face as I’ll be covering your hair during the initial consultation.

11. Scent Free Environment

To maintain a pleasant and neutral environment, please avoid wearing heavy perfumes or coming in with noticeable odors, such as those from cigarettes or marijuana.

12. Skin Conditions, Facial Enhancements, & Hair Color

If you have any skin conditions, tattooed eyebrows, micro-blading, facial tattoos, or if your hair is dyed, please include this information when booking your appointment. I will consider these factors during the analysis to ensure we achieve the most accurate and personalized results possible.

13. Skin Care

Please avoid using any new or heavily exfoliating skincare products in the 24 hours before your appointment. This ensures your skin's natural tone is as consistent as possible.

14. Children and Pet Policy

To ensure a focused and uninterrupted session, please make arrangements for children and pets to be cared for outside of the appointment. Service animals are the only exception and are welcome.

15. Mobile Devices

To maintain a distraction-free environment, please silence or turn off your mobile devices during the session.

16. Covid-19 Policy

Masks cannot be worn during the session as a full view of your face is essential for an accurate color analysis. If you prefer not to remove your mask, virtual analysis options are available. If you are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms, please reschedule your appointment. Your health and the health of our community is my top priority.

17. Cancellation Policy

If you need to reschedule your session, please notify me 24 hours in advance. This ensures I can accommodate your request and make the necessary adjustments. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before your scheduled time or failure to attend the appointment will incur a $50.00 cancellation fee.

18. Rescheduling Policy

You may reschedule your appointment within a 24 hours notice, subject to availability. If you are more than 15 minutes late to your appointment without prior notification (no call, no show) your appointment will be automatically rescheduled to a later date.

19. Relax and Have Fun!

Come with an open mind and be ready to explore new color possibilities. This is a fun and creative process!

I understand that this can feel a bit intimidating, but please know that I am here to support you every step of the way. My goal is to make sure you feel confident and excited about the insights we’ll discover together.
