🎒 Today’s Topic: ✈️ Smart Style & Sanity-Saving Tips for Traveling

Let’s face it—traveling can be exciting, but it can also be a lot. Between long security lines, chaotic boarding, and trying to stay comfortable 30,000 feet in the air, there’s a fine line between “cool, calm traveler” and “why did I wear this again?” traveler.

Over the years, I’ve picked up a few tricks that make flying smoother, cleaner, and way more comfortable—and today, I’m sharing them with you.

🌯 Grab Your Food & Drinks Before You Board

Airport food may not be gourmet, but trust me, it’s better than plane food. Especially the drinks. That free airplane coffee? Hard pass. Plane water and coffee often come from the onboard water tank—and those tanks are notoriously hard to clean. Bring your sealed beverage and snack onto the flight that you got from the airport. You’ll thank yourself at cruising altitude.

🩳 Skip the Wide-Leg Pants (Especially If You’re Using the Plane Bathroom)

They may be chic, but wide-leg pants and airplane bathrooms do not mix. The floors are cramped and often questionable. If your pants are sweeping the ground, they’re probably picking something you don’t want to bring with you. The bathrooms may not be as clean as you think they are if you catch my drift. Go for something tapered or cropped—you’ll stay cleaner and feel less fussy.

🧥 Rethink the Heavy Coat

A thick coat at the airport sounds smart—until you’re sweating in the security line with nowhere to put it. Trust me, unless you have made space for your winter coat in your carry-on or luggage, it gets cumbersome lugging it around with you. Instead, wear a lighter jacket or a layered outfit that gives you warmth and flexibility. You’ll breeze through TSA and won’t be the person juggling a parka at Gate B23.

Get TSA PreCheck or CLEAR If You Travel Often

This has been a game-changer for me. TSA PreCheck or CLEAR can save you so much time and stress, especially during peak travel seasons. PreCheck lets you keep your shoes on and laptop packed, and CLEAR gets you to the front of the line in minutes. Worth every penny if you fly often. I wish I had done this sooner!

📱 Keep the Essentials Within Easy Reach

Have your boarding pass, ID, and credit card ready and accessible. Not buried in your tote or stuck in your suitcase. A belt bag or small zip pouch makes this super easy—and you won’t be that person holding up the line while digging through your bag.

👟 Wear Slip-On Shoes (With Socks!)

Security lines mean shoes off, and trust me: you don’t want to go barefoot on that airport floor. Choose shoes that slip on and off quickly, and always wear socks. It’s cleaner, faster, and honestly, just more respectful to your feet and everyone around you.

🎧 Bonus Tip: Curate a Travel Ritual You Love

Whether it's a playlist, a podcast, or a skin mist that makes you feel refreshed mid-flight, having a tiny ritual can help you feel grounded while you're literally in the air. I personally

Traveling doesn’t have to be stressful. With just a little prep and a few smart choices, you can feel calm, clean, and confident—from TSA to touchdown.

💖 Things I’m Loving (And... Not So Much)

Welcome to Loving vs. Not Loving—your weekly mood board of obsessions and eye-rolls. This week, I’m stepping into the world of traveling. I just came back from Kansas City, Kansas and I wanted to share some things that I enjoy when I travel for work and things that I find to be quite an annoyance. Let me know if you’re with me on these or if I’m out of my mind.

💍 Loving right now:

Getting to your destination early.
When the plane arrives at your location earlier than you expected? Truly iconic for me.

Chic Outfits at the airport.
Look, I love a great sweatsuit just like the rest of you. I love being comfortable when I’m traveling for work or a vacation. But when I see someone dressed to the nines at the airport and taking the time to style an outfit together, it’s refreshing to see. Even better when it’s in a color palette that harmonizes with them.

No screaming babies on my flight.
Before all the moms who follow me give me hate, I totally understand why babies have a hard time being up in the air. And of course, you’re not going to leave your young kid at home when you travel. But when I’m traveling on a plane at the butt crack of dawn, the last thing I need is a kid kicking and screaming the entire time. So when I don’t see a baby on the plane, it makes me a happier traveler.

🙅‍♀️ Not vibing with:

People who rush to stand up to get off the plane.
Look, I know your butts are hurting for being in those seats for a long time…mine is too. But why do people feel the need to stand up to not go anywhere for at least 15 minutes to grab your carry-on?? Especially when you’re way in the back row? I can’t handle it.

TSA Screaming at you to put your stuff in the bins.
TSA I’m sure is under a lot of stress. But do not take it out on us paying customers going about our merry way. Especially when it’s way too early in the morning or late at night. RELAX.

Delayed or Cancelled Flights.
Especially when you just arrive at the airport to find this out… the absolute worst!

🎨 Color Combinations I’m Loving.

This week, I’m shifting focus from the classics to the unexpected—specifically, surprising colors tailored to each of the four seasons. These colors might not be traditional, but they are aligned—and alignment is what makes a look truly impactful.

I’m not diving into flow palettes this week, but if this sparks your interest, I’d be more than happy to explore that next time. For now, let’s lean into the unexpected and reimagine what colors for each of the home seasons can look like.

Safety Yellow for Winters - When you think of the Winter color palette, you picture jewel tones, pure black, icy whites—but yellow? Probably not. Most yellows lean warm, but Safety Yellow (or any variation of Neon Yellow, Highlighter Yellow, or Lemon Yellow) has an acidic, almost electric quality that makes it feel sharp, cool, and totally Winter-appropriate. It clashes with gold (a dead giveaway it's not warm) and shines best when paired with silver, black, or crisp white. Is it a staple shade? Not quite. But if you're a True Winter craving yellow, this is your yellow.

Rose Browns for Summers: The Summer palette is all about softness—cool blues, smoky grays, muted pastels. Traditional browns like camel, cinnamon, and chocolate? Way too warm. But rose brown is different. With its cool, pinkish undertone and subtle softness, it fits beautifully into a True Summer wardrobe. It’s brown, but make it chic, muted, and wearable. If you're a Summer looking for a brown that won’t wash you out, this is the one.

Dove Gray for Springs: True Springs shine in light, bright, warm tones—think golden browns, fresh corals, and creamy ivories. Gray? Not exactly a go-to. But dove gray, with its soft yellow base, can work in small doses. It’s the warmest of the grays, making it one of the few that won’t dull a Spring’s natural glow. Still, it’s more of a supporting act than a star. If you need a neutral or want to wear gray, it’ll do—but your best bets are still those sunny, light browns.

Salmon Pinks for Autumns: True Autumns are rich in earthy tones—burnt oranges, mossy greens, and golden browns. Pink? It’s not a major player in this palette. But if you must have one, salmon pink is your best bet. With its soft, yellow-based warmth, it blends seamlessly with Autumn’s cozy, grounded hues. It’s not the star of the show, but it won’t clash either. For the pink-loving Autumn, this is the pink that plays nice.

💸 Discount of the Week

✈️ Take $60 off any in-person or virtual color consultation with code JETSET60—now through Sunday, June 1st at 11:59 PM EST.

P.S. This code is just for you—think of it like TSA PreCheck for your wardrobe. We’re keeping it exclusive (and stylish), so please don’t spread it around. Unless your seatmate on the plane compliments your palette—then maybe we'll look the other way. Deal? 🧳😉
